We have been hearing that Apple might be working on a cheaper model of
iPhone even this year round but news hasn't been confirmed as of yet.
Apple had released the iPhone 5C in 2013 under the umbrella of an
affordable smartphone, but it could not help the company get any real
traction. This is one of the reasons why skeptics feel it is unlikely of
Apple to repeat its past mistake
While the debate continues, a news report claims that Apple had accidently posted pictures of the forthcoming iPhone 6C on the site. The said picture was that of iPhone 5c with the new TouchID feature. This has sparked fresh rumors of an iPhone 6c variant.
However 9to5Mac is of the opinion that the image that was posted only for a very short duration of time and was not really that of iPhone 6c. Furthermore, the website shared that it has sources within Apple have confirmed that it was an incorrect render and nothing else.
In the recent few weeks we have also heard rumours that Apple will be looking at launching a rose-color variant for the iPhone 6 and that Saphire display might finally be gracing an iPhone screen. However, at this stage we shall be taking all these rumours with a pinch of salt.
