Earlier (March 10th): Moto E 2nd gen 3G variant launched for Rs. 6999
Motorola launches the Moto E 2nd gen. phone in India, and it will, just like all other Motorola devices in India, be exclusively available on Flipkart. The smartphone comes with a 4.5-inch display, 1 gig of RAM along with Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor and it runs Android 5.0 Lollipop out-of-the-box.
The device goes on sale from tomorrow, i.e. March 11th, and the company also mentioned about a 4G version, which is said to be coming soon, but no information about the price and availability was given.

Motorola has just announced the second generation Moto E smartphone, with two variants based on connectivity. There is only one difference between the two due to the connectivity, and it is with the processor that powers them. The Moto E 2015 still stays in the budget range but gets quite a good upgrades to the specs from the predecessor, the major one being its battery life.
Update: the pricing in India is Rs. 6999 for the 3G unit, as seen in the promo videos.
Unlike the first gen. Moto E, the Moto E 2015 comes with a 4.5-inch display but the resolution is kept the same, at qHD resolution and the display has the Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. While it has 1GB RAM and 8GB internal storage (with MicroSD card slot), the processor that powers the 4G unit is Qualcomm Snapdragon 410, quad-core chipset at 1.2GHz, and on the 3G unit, you will see the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor at 1.2GHz that was seen in the Moto E 2014.
The Moto E 2015 will run Android 5.0 Lollipop out-of-the-box, and the slightly modified stock interface is always one of the smoothest to use, with some added useful apps from Motorola. Camera wise, there is no upgrade done by Motorola as we still see a flash light missing beside the 5-megapixel rear shooter, and there is a VGA camera on the front.
You might already have learned about the connectivity of the 2nd Gen Moto E, as it has the 4G LTE and 3G variants, with other standard connectivity options such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. Interestingly, the new Moto E has a 2390 mAh battery packed in, which could be the best part about it. We might remind you that the flagship Moto X 2nd gen had a 2300 mAh battery included, and the Moto E 2015 will disappoint several Moto X users who hold a comparatively much pricier device with a lesser battery backup.
Motorola is going to sell bands and grip shells separately, $20 a piece. The pricing set for the Moto E 2015, is $119.99 for the 3G variant, and $149.99 for the LTE variant. The roll out will be right away, in over 50 countries across North America, Latin America, Europe and Asia.
Motorola India has given an indication about the release of this smartphone in India via. Flipkart, but it is unclear about the color variants and also whether it will be just the 3G variant or both of them available.
