iPhone 5s, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus Prices Dropped; iPhone 5c Discontinued

Iphone 6s rose
Apple on Wednesday launched the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus, alongside the new Rose Gold colour variant for the smartphone duo. The Cupertino-based tech firm also discontinued the plastic-bodied iPhone 5c. It also removed the Gold colour option for the iPhone 5s, iPhone 6, and iPhone 6 Plus, and dropped their prices as well.
As clearly seen on the company's updated website, Apple has now removed the Gold colour option from iPhone 5s, iPhone 6, and iPhone 6 Plus. This leaves the three smartphones with only two colour options - Silver and Space Gray. However, the new iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus would arrive in all four colours - Silver, Space Gray, Gold and Rose Gold. So users who wanted to buy a Gold colour iPhone model, would now have only the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus to choose from - a move obviously hoped to spur sales of the more expensive new models.
In addition, as it has done with previous iPhone launches, Apple has dropped prices of the older iPhone 5s, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus as well. All three models will be $100 (roughly Rs. 6,700) cheaper.
As announced during the launch event, the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus would now start at $99 (roughly Rs. 6,600) and $199 (roughly Rs. 13,300) on 2-year contracts. The handsets used to start at $199 and $299 (roughly Rs. 20,000) respectively. The 16GB iPhone 5s would be available for free with a 2-year contract.
In terms of contract-free unlocked prices, the 16GB variant of the iPhone 5s will be priced at $449 (roughly Rs. 30,000), the iPhone 6 at $549 (roughly Rs. 36,600), and the iPhone 6 Plus at $649 (roughly Rs. 43,300).
The price for the unlocked versions of iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus remain unchanged compared to their predecessors at launch: $649 for the 16GB iPhone 6s, $749 (roughly Rs. 50,000) for the 64GB iPhone 6s and 16GB iPhone 6s Plus, $849 (roughly Rs. 57,000) for 128GB iPhone 6s and 64GB iPhone 6s Plus, and $949 (roughly Rs. 63,200) for the 128GB iPhone 6s Plus.
The new iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus smartphones would start at $199 and $299 with 2-year contracts, which were the original prices of the older iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus models. The 64GB version of the new handsets would cost $100 more and the 128GB would be priced $100 more than the 64GB version. The duo will be up for pre-orders starting Saturday. India launch dates or the prices of the smartphones are not yet out.

iPhone 6s Launch: More Details Leak Ahead of Apple's September 9 Event

iPhone 6s
Apple executives on Wednesday will step on stage to announce the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus alongside new iPad models and a new Apple TV. With just few hours left for the event, more information about the devices has surfaced the Web.
Alleged images of the iPhone 6s boxset have leaked on the Web. The boxset and cutouts images show off what seems to be new colourful animated wallpapers, a feature that has been previously touted to be introduced in the new iPhone models. The images also cement rumours of a Rose Gold colour variant, and 16GB storage space in the latest iPhone.

Separately, two more images (via @onleaks) of what appears to be the boxset of iPhone 6s show off a golden fish on an all-white background, with either gold or rose gold-coloured sides. Some believe that the fish in the iPhone wallpaper is "bettas" (also known as Siamese fighting fish).
Separately, while an earlier report suggested that the iPad Pro will have 64GB in its most basic variant, a new report by 9to5Mac claims the company intends to launch a 32GB variant of its new tablet as well. The same report further revealed that the pricing of the iPad Pro will start at $799 (roughly Rs. 53,000). The 64GB variant is tipped to be priced at $899 (roughly Rs. 60,000), whereas the top-of-the-line 128GB could break the bank at $999 (roughly Rs. 66,500). LTE variants will cost up to $130 more, taking the top of the line variant up to $1,129 (roughly Rs. 75,100).
The report also revealed some new information about the supposed new Apple TV. According to which, it would run iOS 9-based "tvOS." The report added that the interface of the new Apple Watch will remain same as the old generation with plenty of El Capitan and iOS 9 interface elements.
Another report said that the Periscope live-streaming firm is working on a new app for the new Apple TV, as is Airbnb, suggesting the kind of apps Apple wants to cater users in its new part set-top box, part gaming console.
Finally, 9to5Mac also reports that Apple may introduce new Apple Watch bands and partnerships with fashion brands.

iPhone 6s Rose Gold Image Leaks; iPhone 6c Tipped Again

Iphone 6 Rear Camera
Another series of rumours on Apple's upcoming iPhone models have hit the Web. This time the reports include insight on the Rose Gold iPhone 6s, handset reservations from telecom carriers, and some details on the iPhone 6c. Also, the iPhone 6s is said to hit the markets starting September 18 following the keynote event on September 9.
The alleged Rose Gold iPhone 6s image, which comes from 996.com, a blog, shows a pink-coloured iPhone in the box with an Apple Store bag in the background. However, as per 9to5Mac the handset model seen in the image seems to be a fake. The image first emerged in March this year, but started spreading online starting this week along with other images claiming to show similar yet questionable images. The image however, gives us an idea of what might the final Rose Gold colour variant iPhone might look like. Also, introducing a new colour variant with iPhone 6s makes sense since the company with its last 'S' iPhone model brought the Gold colour in the lineup.

German carriers have also reportedly started pre-registrations for the iPhone 6s model. Carriers including Vodafone Germany and T-Mobile have started issuing interest forms and tickets respectively for the next iPhone model. These forms and tickets, as one would expect, can be used for priority purchasing of the upcoming models.
Another report from GforGames suggests that Apple could be working on a 5-inch iPhone 6c or 6s model, which would also be arriving in 2015. Notably however, previous rumours had tipped a 4-inch iPhone 6c model, though other reports indicated a 2015-launch of the model was not likely. Most recently, tipster Evan Blass, of @evleaks fame, had claimed the iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, and iPhone 6c would be launched simultaneously.
The Cupertino-based tech firm might also be incorporating Intel-based wireless modem on the next year's iPhone model, according to Digitimes, which adds Qualcomm will be the vendor to the new iPhone models this year with modem chips made using TSMC's 20mm process.
Furthermore, a report from a German website called Macerkopf, states the next-generation iPhone models will hit stores on September 18 this year, which is in line with Apple's traditional iPhone release cycle by being a Friday. Pre-orders are expected to commence soon after Apple's September 9 event. Another report from Netherlands suggests that after the first wave of countries, the second tier regions could receive the iPhone models by September 26.
Recalling Apple's history of iPhone launch dates, the firm held the iPhone 5 event on September 12, 2012 and launched the device on the following Friday on September 21. Similarly in case of iPhone 5s and iPhone 5C, the company held the event on September 10, 2013, and launched the smartphones the following Friday on September 20. As for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, the event was on September 9 followed by the launch on September 19, which again was a Friday.

iPhone 6s Force Touch Panel Reportedly Enters Mass Production

Iphone 6
Details about Apple's upcoming iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus have been leaked several times in the recent past, and the most recent reports had tipped several specifications and features, including Force Touch technology. Now, a new report claims that the Force Touch panels for the handsets have entered the mass production stage.
A report from Digitimes, claims that Apple suppliers had already started shipping the Force Touch panels in limited numbers in June, before the full-blown production began in July. Apple was last month also tipped to be preparing for the largest initial production run for its next iPhones by the end of the year, asking suppliers to manufacture 85 million to 90 million units of two new models with 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch displays.
Furthermore, Taipei Times added that TPK Holding Co., which is said to be Apple's chief supplier for pressure-sensitive Force Touch panels, is expecting a widespread use of these sensors by later this year. "We believe that pressure sensors for force touchpanels will see widespread adoption across the mobile-device market this year," Taipei Times quoted Michael Chung, TPK Chief Executive Officer. The announcement was made while disclosing the company's Q2 revenue growth meeting.
The Force Touch technology was first introduced in the Apple Watch, followed by the new 12-inch MacBook. It can detect different touch pressures which can then be used to display more options to users than regular touch.
The report is in line with several other leaks in the past few months, with the most recent indicating the new iPhone models will be slightly longer (0.15mm) and thicker (0.2mm) to accommodate the Force Touch technology, and feature a stronger Series 7000 aluminium build.
So far, the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus are expected to feature the same 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch displays respectively as last year's models, but bring additions like 2GB of LPDDR4 RAM, a 12-megapixel rear camera instead of an 8-megapixel offering, and an upgraded front-facing FaceTime camera with 1080p recording apart from a front-facing flash, and a more efficient Qualcomm LTE modem.

The next iPhone has reportedly entered early production

The next iPhone has reportedly entered early production
According to a report in Bloomberg, the next Apple iPhone has entered early production. The Cupertino giant is expected to unveil the successors of iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus in September.

The next-generation iPhone lineup is tipped to feature Force Touch-capable displays. The tech giant has allegedly been working with suppliers for the past couple of years to get the technology ready for mass production.

Force Touch debuted on the Apple Watch and the 12” Macbook. The technology allows users to access different functions on a device depending on the strength of the pressure they apply to its screen (or trackpad).
Unsurprisingly, the iPhone 6 family successors will feature the same design as the currently available models. Volume manufacturing of the duo is tipped to kick off next month.
This is not the fist time we hear about Force Touch functionality in the next iPhone. The hotly anticipated device is also said to feature tougher aluminum than the model it is bound to replace.

Next iPhone Models Tipped to Be Bigger and Stronger

Apple Iphone 6
The next iPhone leaks and rumours are now more frequent, and the latest additions to the list are the use of a 7000 Series aluminium build, which will help ensuring no bendgate issues. The next iPhone models, expected to be called the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus, are also said to feature no camera bump, and be slightly bigger in size than previous models.
According to Macotakara website, the rumoured next iPhone models would be sporting a stronger Series 7000 aluminium, which is said to be 60 percent tougher than the current aluminium alloy being used in Apple Watch Sports Edition. The blog cites noted KGI analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo. The smartphone might also be 0.15mm longer and 0.2mm thicker than the current models.
The 0.2mm thickness is being speculated to be included because of the Force Touch feature for the handset's display. Kuo had already tipped the inclusion of the feature last month. We already have seen the feature in Apple Watch wearables, and the new 12-inch MacBook. Moreover, reports from last month showcasing iOS 9 hinted Apple's plans to bring the feature in future handsets. It is yet to be detailed how the function would work on the handset.
Apple is reportedly also planning to completely eliminate the camera bump from the upcoming iPhone models. A couple of previous reports have stressed on the fact that Apple's next iPhone model will feature major upgrade in the camera department, with one claiming that the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus will include a 12-megapixel rear camera instead of the 8-megapixel camera seen in last four generation iPhones.
A report from last week even suggested the smartphones to sport a FaceTime camera with support for recording 1080p videos and capturing 240fps slow-mo videos at 720p.
The report claims the next iPhone models to launch in Rose Gold colour variant, besides the regular Space Gray, Silver and Gold colour variants. The smartphones are said to feature a finish similar to the 18K Rose Gold Apple Watch Edition. This is in line from a previous report by Ming-Chi Kuo.
