Asus ZenPad 7.0 and ZenPad 8.0 India Availability Detailed

Asus India on Friday finally revealed the availability of its ZenPad 7.0 (Z370CG) and ZenPad 8.0 (Z380KL) tablets for the Indian market alongside launching the ZenPad C 7.0 (Z170CG). Both the tablets were initially announced for India in August.
The Taiwanese manufacturer confirmed that the ZenPad 7.0 will be available starting Friday itself. The ZenPad 8.0 and ZenPad C 7.0 tablets on the other hand will go on sale by end of October. All three new ZenPad tablets will be available via exclusive Asus stores and Flipkart.
As before, the Asus ZenPad 7.0 (Z370CG) will come at Rs. 11,999 and the tablet will also be available with a bundled Audio Cover at Rs. 14,999. The tablet will come in Obsidian Black and Aurora Metallic colours. The Asus ZenPad 8.0 (Z380KL) has been is priced at Rs. 14,999 and with an Audio Cover at Rs. 17,999. It will be available in two colours - Obsidian Black and Aurora Metallic. The ZenPad C 7.0, priced at Rs. 8,999, comes in three colours - Obsidian Black, Glamour Red, Aurora Metallic.
All these tablets were showcased at Computex 2015 trade show this year. The tablets come integrated with DTS-HD Premium Sound technology, which the company touts is a highlight of both the devices.
The Asus ZenPad 7.0 (Z370CG) features a 7-inch (1280x800 pixels) HD display with Corning Gorilla Glass for protection. It is powered by a 64-bit quad-core Intel Atom x3-C3230 processor coupled with 2GB of RAM. It comes with 8GB or 16GB of built-in storage that's expandable via microSD card (up to 128GB). It sports an 8-megapixel rear and there is a 2-megapixel front camera also on board. The Android 5.0 Lollipop-based tablet runs Zen UI on top. The ZenPad 7.0 (Z370CG) supports Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, and Micro-USB connectivity options. The tablet also comes with Micro-SIM and support GPRS/ EDGE and 3G via SIM. For battery life, Asus claims that the ZenPad 7.0 can deliver up to 8 hours battery life and comes with 13Wh Li-polymer battery. It measures 189x110.9x8.7mm and weighs 272 grams.
The ZenPad 8.0 (Z380KL) comes with LTE connectivity along with a Micro-SIM slot. It runs on a 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 615 (MSM8929) processor coupled with 2GB of RAM. It features an 8-inch 1280x800 pixel LED-backlit IPS display and comes with 16GB of storage that is expandable via microSD card (up to 64GB). Apart from 4G, connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, Micro-USB, GPS, and Glonass. It bears a 2-megapixel front camera, and an 8-megapixel rear camera with autofocus. It measures 209x123x8.5 mm and weighs 350 grams. Its 15.2Whr battery is rated to deliver up to 9 hours of battery life.
Finally, the new Asus ZenPad C 7.0 features a 7-inch 1024x600 pixel LED-backlit IPS display, and is powered by a 64-bit quad-core Intel Atom x3-C3230 processor, with 1GB of RAM, and a choice of 8GB of storage that is expandable via microSD card (up to 64GB).
Connectivity options on the ZenPad C 7.0 (Z170CG) include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, Micro-USB, GPS/ A-GPS, and Glonass. It bears a 0.3-megapixel front camera, and a 5-megapixel rear camera with autofocus. It measures 189x108x8.4mm, and weighs 265 grams. Its 13Whr battery is rated to deliver up to 8 hours of battery life. The Asus ZenPad C 7.0 (Z170CG) also sports 3G connectivity and comes with two Micro-SIM card slots.

Taiwanese electronics giant Asus on Monday launched its first Windows 10 powered laptop with a QHD display in India, the ZenBook UX305LA, priced starting from Rs. 97,990. It will be available from October 15 via Asus exclusive stores and online retailers. The slim, lightweight laptop will be available in three colours - Black, White, and Gold - and features a 13.3-inch 3200x1800 pixel LED-backlit display.
Consumers will have option of choosing between an Intel Core M, Core i5, and a Core i7-5500U processor at the top-end. The Asus ZenBook UX305LA comes with 8GB of RAM, and 512GB of SSD storage. It weighs in at 1.3kg, and measures 324x226x5.5~14.9mm.
The Asus ZenBook UX305LA sports one USB 2.0 port, two USB 3.0 ports, a microphone-in jack, a headphone-out jack, one Micro-HDMI port, SonicMaster speakers with audio by ICEpower, and a 56Whrs 6-cell lithium ion polymer battery with up to 10 hours of battery life. It features an HD webcam, 10/100 Mbps LAN, and an SDXC card reader. The laptop bears a 285-mm chiclet-style keyboard.

Looking for a high-end laptop? You might want to check out Asus's ZenBook Pro UX501 which has just been launched in India. The highlight of the Taiwanese company's flagship laptop is its 4K display, new SSD storage, and top-of-the-line processor and graphics cards. The ZenBook Pro UX501 is available in India through Flipkart and Asus exclusive stores at a price point of Rs. 1,15,999.
As for the specifications, the ZenBook Pro UX501 (UX501JW-FJ221H) comes with a 15.6-inch 4K UHD display (3840x2160 pixels). It is powered by an Intel Core i7-4720HQ processor (4 cores, 8 threads, 6MB cache) clocked at 2.6GHz (Turbo up to 3.6GHz) paired with Nvidia GeForce GTX960M GPU with 2GB of GDDR5 RAM, and 8GB of RAM. Other features of the laptop include a 512GB SSD with read/ write speeds up to 1400MB/s -- which the company claims is 16 times faster than standard SATA 6Gbit/s hard disks.
Other features of the ZenBook Pro UX501 include an HD Web camera, apart from support for 802.11 b/g/n/ac and Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity options. On the software front, the laptop runs Windows 8.1, surprising considering Windows 10 has been out for more than a month now, however, it is eligible for a free upgrade.
Asus at the IFA 2015 trade show just past launched several new PCs, from gaming laptops and AIOs, to the VivoStick mini-computer USB dongle. The highlight of the gaming laptop launches was the Asus ROG GX700, which is the company's first water-cooled gaming laptop.

Asus on Thursday at its ZenFestival event in New Delhi expanded its tablet portfolio in India with the launch of the ZenPad 7.0 and ZenPad 8.0. The company also launched four new smartphones in India - the ZenFone Selfie, the ZenFone 2 Laser, the ZenFone 2 Deluxe, and ZenFone Max.
The Taiwanese company priced its Asus ZenPad 7.0 (Z370CG) (see above) starting at Rs. 11,999 and the tablet will also be available with a bundled Audio Cover at Rs. 14,999. The Asus ZenPad 8.0 (Z380KL) is priced starting at Rs. 14,999 and with an Audio Cover at Rs. 17,999. Asus India as of now has not revealed availability details of both the tablets in the country. Both these tablets were showcased at Computex 2015 trade show this year. Both the tablets support voice-calling. Asus also says Wi-Fi only models will be made available to buy, but not revealed pricing details.
The company touts that both the tablets integrate DTS-HD Premium Sound technology, which the company claims is a highlight of both the devices. Asus also notes that both the ZenPad 7.0 and ZenPad 8.0 (see below) tablets feature an interchangeable cover design that lets users customise with functional back covers, including the Zen Clutch carrying and protection case; the Zen Case which features a leather texture and choice of five colours; the Audio Cover for 5.1-channel surround sound, and the Power Case, which extends the battery life to up to 15 hours.

The Asus ZenPad 7.0 (Z370CG) features a 7-inch (1280x800 pixels) HD display with Corning Gorilla Glass for protection. The company is likely to announce the prices of its different SKUs of the ZenPad 7.0 at market availability. The 1GB RAM variant of the ZenPad 7.0 tablet will sport a 5-megapixel rear and 0.3-megapixel front camera while the 2GB RAM model will pack an 8-megapixel rear and 2-megapixel front camera. The Android 5.0 Lollipop-based tablet runs Zen UI on top. The ZenPad 7.0 (Z370CG) supports Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, and Micro-USB connectivity options. The tablet also comes with Micro-SIM and support GPRS/ EDGE and 3G via SIM.

Apart from 4G, connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, Micro-USB, GPS, and Glonass. It bears a 2-megapixel front camera, and a 5-megapixel rear camera with autofocus. It will be available in Black, White, and Aurora Metallic colour variants, measures 209x123x8.5 mm, and weighs 350 grams. Its 15.2Wh battery is rated to deliver up to 9 hours of battery life.

Google and Asus have dropped the price of Asus ZenWatch by $70 (roughly Rs. 4,400) on Google Play, making the wearable available at $129 (roughly Rs. 8,200). Although Asus launched the ZenWatch 2 last month at Computex last month, the new price tag of the ZenWatch certainly makes it worth considering. The smartwatch recently got its latest Android 5.1.1 update bringing new features for the users.
For those unaware, the Asus ZenWatch was launched in September last year during the IFA 2014. Unlike other Android Wear smartwatches the Asus ZenWatch features a rectangular display with curved corners. It features a 2.5D curved Corning Gorilla Glass 3 screen and a special smartwatch version of the ZenUI on top of Android Wear. The wearable includes a 1.63-inch AMOLED display with a 320×320 pixel resolution, translating to a pixel density of 278ppi. It is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, coupled with 512MB of RAM. It features 4GB of built-in storage, and a 1.4Wh battery. The ZenWatch has Bluetooth 4.0 and Micro-USB (via charging cradle) connectivity options, and comes with a built-in microphone. It has been given an IP55 water-resistant rating.
The recently launched Asus ZenWatch 2 on the other hands features an enhanced Remote Camera that offers faster performance, more range, zoom capability, and the ability to switch between the phone's front and rear cameras. It also comes in two sizes with different model names ZenWatch 2 (WI501Q), and ZenWatch 2 (WI502Q). These feature interchangeable 22mm strap (with a 49mm stainless steel case) and an 18mm strap (with 45mm stainless steel case) respectively.

Asus has expanded its business-focused ultrabook offering in India with the launch of the AsusPro BU201 and BU401 models. The AsusPro BU201 and BU401 ultrabooks will be available at Rs. 85,999 and Rs. 89,499 respectively across retailers in India. The Taiwanese company stresses that the new ultrabooks are built for "comfort and productivity."
The AsusPro BU201 and BU401 ultrabooks sport carbon fibre material and also feature military-spec ratings for durability and shock-resistance (MIL-STD 810G).
Under the hood, AsusPro BU201 ultrabook features an Intel Core i5-4210U processor (2 cores, 4 threads, 1.7GHz base clock, up to 2.7GHz Turbo clock) coupled with Intel HD Graphics 4400 and runs Windows 8.1 Professional (64-bit). The ultrabook comes preloaded with Microsoft Office 2013 Trial pack. There is 4GB of RAM and 500GB of hard disk storage (2.5-inch 5400RPM HDD). The ultrabook comes with a 12.5-inch LED display with a full-HD (1920x1080 pixel) resolution and 16:9 aspect ratio. There is HD webcam on board, and connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.0. The ultrabook sports illuminated chiclet keyboard with backlit keys.
The AsusPro BU401 ultrabook also features almost similar specifications as AsusPro BU201 ultrabook. Though, there are few differences such as AsusPro BU401 runs Windows 7 64-bit Professional, which is upgradeable to Windows 8 64-bit Professional. It features a 14-inch LED backlit display with a 1600x900 pixels resolution and supports Wi-Fi 802.11a/g/n and Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity options. It also comes preloaded with McAfee Internet Security 2012 pack.
Common connectivity options include 3 USB 3.0 ports, Ethernet, 1 headphone-microphone combo port, and 1 VGA port. The AsusPro BU401 sports an HDMI 1.4 port, while the AsusPro BU201 sports a Mini Display Port. Both laptops feature fingerprint sensors.

Asus on Thursday launched its ROG GL552 gaming laptop in India, at a price tag of Rs. 70,999. The high-end laptop is available in Black+Gray colour variant to purchase from leading e-commerce websites.
The Windows 8.1-based ROG GL552 features a 15.6-inch full-HD (1920×1080 pixels) resolution IPS backlit display with an aspect ratio of 16:9, and a 178-degree viewing angle. It is powered by a fourth-generation Intel Core i7-4720HQ processor (4 cores, 8 threads, 2.6GHz base clock, 3.6GHz Turbo) with 8GB of 1600MHz DDR3 RAM (upgradable) and Nvidia GeForce GTX 950M (N16P-GT) for handling graphic intensive games and applications. Intel HD Graphics 4600 also comes integrated inside the laptop.
Besides an HD webcam, the AsusROG GL552 houses a 1TB (7200RPM) SATA 2.5-inch HDD and an optical drive. In the connectivity section, the gaming laptop includes a RJ45 Ethernet jack, a headphone and mic combo jack, a VGA port (D-Sub), three USB 3.0 ports, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, and one HDMI port. A SD card reader alongside a built-in speaker and microphone is also included. It weighs 2.6kgs, and measures 382×255×16-32.6mm. It runs on a 48WHr 4-cell Li-ion battery.
Some of the other features bundled with the Asus ROG GL552 gaming laptop are SonicMaster and AudioWizard-powered audio, and easy-touch low profile keys including a highlighted WASD key group. It also comes bundled with a gaming headset, mouse, and carry bag.

Asus ZenFone 2 128GB With 4GB of RAM to Reportedly Launch on Thursday

While we know Asus has a 128GB variant of the ZenFone 2 ZE551ML in the works, with a listing on Flipkart back in April, the company is now reportedly set to launch the variant in Taiwan on Thursday.The top-end ZenFone 2 variant is said to be priced at TWD 11,990 (approximately Rs. 24,900), and be made available via the company's online stores as well as other online and offline retailers in Taiwan. The launch was first reported by Chinese VR Zone.
The Zenfone 2 ZE551ML (4GB RAM) variant with 128GB inbuilt storage was listed on Flipkart back in April at Rs. 29,999. The smartphone however is still listed as "coming soon" on Flipkart.
With the launch in Taiwan, Asus ZenFone 2 ZE551ML variant with 4GB of RAM and 128GB built-in storage might launch next in India. The company thus far has released the 4GB of RAM model in 32GB and 64GB inbuilt storage models in Taiwan, as well as in India. Apart from inbuilt storage capacity, rest of the specifications of the 128GB variant are identical to the other two ZenFone 2 ZE551ML models.
To recall, the Asus ZenFone 2 ZE551ML runs the company's new ZenUI based on Google's Android 5.0 Lollipop, and features a 64-bit 2.3GHz quad-core Intel Atom Z3580 processor. It supports expandable storage via microSD card (up to 64GB).
The Asus ZenFone 2 ZE551ML features a 5.5-inch full-HD display in both the 2GB and 4GB RAM variants. The ZenFone 2 models support dual-SIM (Micro-SIMs), and feature 4G connectivity support.
The ZenFone 2 ZE551ML (4GB and 2GB RAM models) sport 13-megapixel rear PixelMaster camera while there is a 5-megapixel front camera on board as well. All the ZenFone 2 ZE551ML models feature dual-tone flash. A 3000mAh battery backs all ZenFone 2 ZE551ML (4GB and 2GB RAM models).
